Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Professionally known as Aurora or sometimes stylized with highercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Label Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise from bloggers as well as the media. She has recorded several high-profile song covers, including Half the World Away (by the group Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which have received a lot of praise. Katy Perry's praise for her song Runaway in a blog entry brought the singer additional acknowledgement. Honor her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an old piano that was hidden away in the attic of her home, and being captivated by the sounds that it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to study music for a hobby or as a profession. She began writing songs of her own. Alongside Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music on stage, not in order to gain fame but rather to help others realize how important their voices are and how they could do to improve the world. The piano was first played by her when she was only six and started writing songs by the time she was nine. It wasn't known to her family about it until she reached 14. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. The singer says that she simply likes creating songs. For her, music is the best method for expressing anything.
